Privacy Policy

1. Controller

The controller of personal data under the GDPR (EU) 2016/679 for the service DoPremávky.sk is:

DoPremávky.sk is an independent learning platform for the Slovak driving-theory exam. We are not financed by or affiliated with the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic or the traffic police.

2. Data we process

  • name / nickname and email address,
  • password stored as a one-way hash; email verification status,
  • learning / game progress (XP, hearts, streak, gems, completed lessons, practice stats, preferences such as theme),
  • messages you send via the contact form or email (including reply-to),
  • technical data needed to run the service securely (session cookie, limited server logs).

We do not require a national ID number or payment card details for basic registration. If paid features are introduced later, we will update this policy before collecting payment data.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Providing the service (contract) — account, login, progress, gamification features.
  • Security and email verification (contract / legitimate interest).
  • Support communication (contract / legitimate interest / consent depending on context).
  • Infrastructure integrity (legitimate interest) — uptime, abuse prevention, debugging.
  • Legal obligations where applicable.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies / session storage for authentication and app operation. Login sessions last at most 8 hours. The optional “Remember me” setting keeps you signed in across browser restarts, still for at most 8 hours.

We use the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. / Facebook) to measure traffic and the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. The pixel may store cookies / similar identifiers and process technical visit data (e.g. URL, device type, approximate location from IP). Legal basis: legitimate interest in measuring and improving campaigns, and/or consent depending on your browser / Meta account settings. You can manage Meta ads preferences at Meta ad settings.

5. Recipients

Data is processed by us. Infrastructure providers (hosting, SMTP email) may process data as processors under contractual safeguards. Meta (Facebook) may process data via the Meta Pixel under Meta’s terms. We do not sell account personal data to third parties for advertising. Public authorities receive data only when required by law.

6. Transfers outside the EEA

We aim to process data in the EU/EEA. If a provider processes data outside the EEA, we use appropriate GDPR safeguards where required (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).

7. Retention

Account and progress data are kept while the account exists and for a reasonable period after deletion to complete erasure or handle disputes. Contact messages are kept as needed to handle your request. Technical logs are typically short-lived. After an erasure request we delete personal data without undue delay, except where law requires longer retention.

8. Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection (where applicable), and withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. Contact kontakt@dopremavky.sk. You may lodge a complaint with the Slovak Data Protection Authority (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov SR).

9. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures (password hashing, HTTPS, restricted admin access). No online service is perfectly secure — please use a strong password.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is published on this page with its effective date.
